Pink Stack-N-Pots sale to boost National Breast Cancer Foundation during October awareness month

Bright pink plastic pots produced by a Port Stephens company will help to raise funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation throughout the month of October.

Deeps Engineering, a family owned and operated plastic injection molding company based in Salamander Bay, has turned their hugely popular and usually green Stack-N-Pots pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

For each pink Stack-N-Pot sold, $5 will be donated to the foundation. The tiered pots, which have 12 sections and a base, cost $15 each.

"We've molded 125 sets of pink Stack-N-Pots pots and we've already had a pretty positive response with pre-orders," Rachel Jameson from Deeps Engineering said. "We're really happy with the outcome so far. It's great seeing so many people get behind the cause."

Mrs Jameson said the company, founded 30 years ago by her father Steven Dee, had about 1000 of the tiered green pots sitting in their warehouse after being contacted to create them late last year but shipping issues from the client's end meant they never left Salamander Bay.

Looking to clear the warehouse of stock, Mrs Jameson placed the pots for sale on Facebook where they "blew up".

"We were hoping to get rid of some. We weren't expecting them to blow up as much as they did," she said.

"They were all gone within the week. I think COVID has helped because a lot of people have turned to gardening and they're looking to support Australian-made and local business."

The original client sold the design to Deeps Engineering who now make their Stack-N-Pots regularly.

"I get messages every day from people all over Australia ordering our pots," Mrs Jameson said.

It was Mrs Jameson's brother, Mitchell Dee, the operations manager for Deeps Engineering, that suggested molding the pots pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.

The company is taking pre-orders with the pots to be shipped at the start of October.
